Discipline is Necessary to Please God

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come to You in the salvation-baring name of Your Son Jesus Christ, thanking You for all that You do and all that You are in my life. You are a deliverer of tremendous and wondrous things and from terrible and deadly situations. No one can do what it is that You do. You are my Creator, my Strength, my Sword, my Redeemer. You are my Deliverer, my Fortress, my High Tower, my Refuge, all the honor belongs to You. You are a Waymaker where there seems to be no way, and my heart fills up with gratefulness for the many times I have experienced this. You are a loving and merciful Father who finds pleasure in our joy. I have been made free from sin becoming a servant of righteousness. I no longer live according to my flesh, but by the Spirit, therefore, my soul shall live. Your Word gives me the faith necessary to live a disciplined and lawful life. I seek to please You by allowing YourWord to cleanse me and to strengthen me. I discipline my body, keeping it under subjection so that when I stand before others the message You have given me to speak will not be rejected. Thank You for Your faithfulness and Your immutability. I know that I can always run to You and You will supply what is needed. I will continue to practice the necessary restraint in all that I do so that my life is pleasing to You, an I will always give You all the glory, all the honor, and all the praise; in Jesus' name,
~ Amen

But I bring and keep my body under subjection, lest when preaching to others I myself should be disqualified. - 1st Corinthians 9:27

God Disciplines us for our own Good

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come to You in the Self-sacrificing name of Your Son Jesus Christ, thanking You for the continual confirmation of Your Word to build and sustain my faith. I hear the remembrances of Your Word in everything that I do. You are a revealer of knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. I find encouragement in Your Word, I find direction in Your Word, I find strength in Your Word. I encounter love, faith, and unity in Your Word. Everything that is needed for life and godliness is located in Your Word, and I am eternally grateful. You are the God who chastens; so, that we may be partakers of Your holiness. You command that we live holy and sanctified lives in the face of Your Righteousness. And You show us how to do it through Your Word. You train us to be disciplined and to practice self-restraint that we may experience peace. Thank You for all that You continue to show me and for all that You have allowed me to see and do. I will forever give You all the glory, all the honor, and all the praise forever and ever,
~ Amen

For they indeed disciplined us for a short time according to their own judgment, but He does so for our profit, that we may partake of His holiness. Now no discipline seems to be joyful at the time, but grievous. Yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness in those who have been trained by it. - Hebrews 12:10-11

Have the Intentions to do What The Word of God has to Say (prayer)

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the opportunity to come before Your throne with confidence and boldness that I may receive the mercy and grace I need at the proper time, so that I may say boldly that You are my Helper and I shall not fear what can be done unto me. Thank You that all that I need will be provided and all that I desire according to Your Word I can request having an earnest expectation that I shall receive it. Thank You for Your faithfulness, and Your willingness to mold and shape me into the person that You have created me to be. I thank You for Your longsuffering and Your merciful kindness as You admonish me through the men and woman of God You have placed into my life. You have sent Your Word through the arm of the ministry that has been ordained by the power of Your Spirit. Thank You that they teach precept upon precept line upon line that I may learn at the pace that is appropriate for me. Thank You for loving me and walking with me daily as I practice living this life of self-control, discipline, and restraint. You teach me in Your Word that I am to be hospitable, that is to love strangers and to be fond of guest. Your Word instructs me to be a lover of what is right and a promoter of virtue and strength. It is my duty to be self-controlled and to walk holy and upright in front others so that I can encourage those that I come into contact with and am able to refute those who contradict Your message that Christ is Lord and has an expectation that we live according to His commandments. I will hold fast to the profession of my faith and speak confidently and boldly Your Truth, which I have gotten from You. Thank You for all that You are doing in and through my life, and I give You all the glory, all the honor, and all the praise, and it is in the marvelous and miracle-working name of Your Son Jesus Christ that I do pray,
~ Amen

Thank You that I walk amidst the lions but am unharmed. Thank You that I sore with the Eagles, yet know how to remain humble. Personal Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come to you in the bondage-breaking name of your son Jesus Christ, thanking you for saving me and for your continual deliverance. Thank You for Your wisdom, knowledge, peace, and guidance. Lord, you are so loving and kind. I pray for those who are headed down a path of destruction, doing things all outside of what Your Word has to say. I pray for those suffering from persecution, and those whose children suffer unrighteously. Thank you for giving strength and courage to us in our time of need. Father, we need you to lead us and to speak to us so that the faith, trust, and confidence that only comes from Your Word is our confession all day long. Father, we are abundantly blessed because You are with us. I pray that my friends, family, and all those that we come into contact with learn to know You like we do. Thank You for all that You do, for Your miraculous power goes out before us, strengthening our faith, preserving our joy, and proving Your love for us. Father Allow me to Practice Restraint (Prayer)

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come to You in the miraculous and matchless name of Your Son Jesus Christ, thanking You for this life that You have given me to live. You are the giver of every kind and favorable thing. There is nothing that compares to the desires You have for Your children. You are the God over all the earth, and all good things come from You, You are Good. You are my Shield and my Safe Refuge, my Hiding Place. You give me peace and comfort like no one can. You offer direction out of Your timeless wisdom that allows me to walk uprightly and to enjoy this life that You have given to me. You are an immutable God that has no equal.
Father, I pray that the fruit of Your Spirit is continuous in my walk. I pray that every aspect of Your Love is evident in my actions, speech, and thoughts.
I pray that my joy is complete demonstrating that You dwell with me.
I pray that my character displays Your peace and assurance that I might reap a harvest of righteousness.
I pray that I may be an example of patience in the face of suffering.
I pray that I demonstrate kindness, goodness, and faithfulness that reflects the Love that You have shed abroad in my heart.
I pray that I learn to restore my brothers and sisters with a spirit of gentleness.
I pray that I learn to stand as a fortified city with strong walls on all sides, displaying self-control at all times. You have said in Your Word that he who controls his temper is nobler than one who captures a city and he who does not control his anger is as helpless as a city without walls. I pray that I not only display these behaviors now but perpetually and that Your Word is engraved upon my heart to remind me of this great opportunity that I have as Your representative to the world. And I will always give to You all glory, all honor, and all the praise because I know that it is You and You alone who is worthy.
~ Amen

Be Vigilant about What You put into the Ground (Prayer)

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come to You in the strength-giving and life-sustaining name of Your Son Jesus Christ, thanking You for Him and the Life that has been given to me. Thank You for Your enduring strength, Your unconditional Love, Your Supreme Wisdom and understanding. You are full of Splendor, You are Holy, You are Magnificent, yet You take time to hear my prayers. I put all of my trust in You and not in the vain and fruitless things of this world. I will not do heinous acts or cause trouble; no, I will not cause discord among the brethren. I will sow peace, faith, and love in the Spirit of Harmony, knowing that whatever I sow, I will also reap. I pray for the political leadership in this country and for all countries. I pray for the persecuted over their beliefs and those that are performing the persecuting. I pray that the deception is removed from their eyes, and they become enlightened with the truth. I pray for a wave of unity and acceptance be poured out on those areas where individuals and groups excite terror against humanity. I pray for the leadership in the church universally, and in my local assembly, I pray that Your Spirit continually dwells amidst Your people so that the Truth can continue to grow in them and be poured out among those still in darkness. Thank You for all that You are doing in and through my life and for Your miraculous works that I have seen and will see today and in the future. And I will always give You all of the glory, all of the honor, and all of the praise forever and ever,
~ Amen
