Quote of the Week - 31MAR19

"You can't speed up the Process, you can only slow it down."

Notwithstanding the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. ~ Habakkuk 2:3

What we Believe

The Scriptures

We believe the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments to be the full record of God’s self-revelation to His creation.  Different authors, while writing according to their own styles and personalities, were supernaturally moved along by the Holy Spirit to record God’s very words, inerrant in the original text. Scripture is entirely trustworthy as our final and sufficient authority for all of life (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21).

The Triune God

We believe in the one living and true God, eternally existing in perfect unity as three equally and fully divine Persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:19-20).  Each member of the Godhead, while executing distinct but complementary roles in redemptive history, has precisely the same nature, attributes, and being, and is equally worthy of the same love, honor, adoration, and obedience (John 1:1-4; Acts 5:3-4).

God the Father

We believe God the Father created all things in six literal days for His glory according to His own will (Revelation 4:11), through His Son, Jesus Christ.  He upholds all things by the Word of His power and grace, exercising sovereign headship over all creation, providence, and redemption (Colossians 1:17, Hebrews 1:3).

God the Son

We believe that the Word, the eternal Son, moved by love through the will of the Father, took on human flesh (John 1:1, 14, 18).  Conceived through the miraculous work of the Holy Spirit, He was born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus Christ who is the Word manifested on earth, being fully God and fully man (John 14:8-9), lived a sinless life and sacrificially shed His blood and died on the cross in our place accomplishing redemption for all who place their faith in Him.  He arose visibly and bodily from the dead three days later and ascended into heaven, where, at the Father’s right hand, He is now Head of His Body the Church, the only Savior and Mediator between God and man, and will return to earth in power and glory to consummate His redemptive mission (1 Timothy 3:16).

God the Holy Ghost

We believe that the Holy Spirit, in all that He does, glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ during this age.  He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment.  He draws the unredeemed to repentance and faith, and at salvation imparts new spiritual life to the believer, bringing that person into union with Christ and the Body of Christ.  The Holy Spirit sanctifies, seals, fills, guides, instructs, comforts, equips, empowers, permanently indwells at salvation, and bestows spiritual gifts to the believer for Christ-like living and service (John 16:8; 13:15; Titus 3:5; Ephesians 1:22; 4:11-12; Romans 8:9-17; 12:4-8; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 12:4-5, 11-13, 19; Galatians 5:25; Hebrews 2:1-4; 2 Corinthians 12:12).

Salvation

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as the propitiation, and that salvation is found in none other than Jesus Christ.  Before Creation, The Godhead established the Everlasting Covenant with Himself and granted this unmerited grace solely based on His sovereign plan and good pleasure. Jesus Christ’s death on the cross was the sole and complete payment for sins, fully satisfying God’s righteous wrath, for each person that turns from sin in repentance and places their faith in Christ alone by grace alone.  At salvation, each person is made a new creation by the Holy Spirit, declared righteous before God, and secured as a child of God forever. Genuine faith continues in obedience and love for Jesus Christ with a life eager to glorify God and persevere to the end (Romans 8:37-39; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Corinthians 12:13).

The Church

We believe that upon placing one’s faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, the believer is made part of the Body of Christ, the one universal Church, of which Jesus Christ is the Head.  The Scriptures command believers to gather locally in order to devote themselves to worship, prayer, teaching of the Word, fellowship, the ordinances of baptism and communion, service to the local body through the development and use of talents and spiritual gifts, and outreach to the world to make disciples (Ephesians 1:22-23; Acts 2:42-46; 1 Corinthians 14:26; Matthew 28:18-20). Wherever God’s people meet regularly in obedience to this command, there is the local expression of the Church under the watchful care of a plurality of elders.  A church’s members are to work together in love and unity, intent on the ultimate purpose of glorifying Christ (Ephesians 4:16).

Morning Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

Father I come before you in the Mighty Name of your Son Jesus Christ, thanking you for another day, another breath, and another opportunity to serve and do your will. I know that I am not perfect and that my ways are far from right at times, but your mercy and grace they encompass me day in and day out. This morning as I seek your amazing grace, I just want to say thank you for all that You are to me and to us all. I pray for the lost to be saved that you would send laborers that have an open heart and a willingness to do as you have sent us to do, fulfilling the ministry of reconciliation that You have entrusted to us. I thank you for edifying words that flow from our mouths and thoughts of blessings as we walk about this wicked earth. Thank you for guidance and protection and Your supernatural intervention into our natural lives. Lord bless you, that You are God, and God alone, thank you that You have it all worked out already all we have to do is submit. Thank you for Your presence and communication with us as a Loving Father and a Faithful friend. This is the day that You have made we shall rejoice and be glad in it. We shall wait on You, and Your Word tells us that when we have an earnest expectation in You, our strength gets renewed, and we shall mount up with wings like eagles and sore. We will run and not get tired, we will walk and not faint if we place our hopes with You.

~ Amen

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. - Isaiah 40:31

A Righteous Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come to you in the miracle-working Name of Jesus, full of thanksgiving and humility. Thanking You for all it is that You are doing in and through my life, but mostly for who You are in My Life. You are my solid foundation, My rock, my Righteousness, and my Salvation, The Holy One of Israel, You are God all by yourself, and there is none else, no one, nothing can compare to Your beauty and your magnitude, words cannot express how magnificent You are, because you are Holy, You’re in a class all by Yourself. Thank You for being God. Lord, I pray that you continue to guide me in the way that I should go, keeping my paths upright and virtuous in Your sight. Giving me the courage to speak and act with integrity in all situations and circumstances. I thank You for causing me to overcome all adversity in righteousness and free from immorality.  It is Your Spirit that lives and dwells with me, chastening me and giving me the correction needed to be successful in my walk. I will continue in the Victory that you provide me through the shed blood, the precious blood of Jesus Christ on Calvary. Thank you, and I give you all glory, all honor, and all praise forever and ever.
~ Amen

I bring to you a gracious heart filled with humility thanking you for another day that You have blessed me with, thanks for all of the dangers seen and unseen that You continue to protect me from. You are a matchless King, there is none like You, You are Holy in all your ways, and I thank you for salvation and mercy in all my days.

I pray and thank You that I have enough coming in each week to provide for my family and to be gracious on every occasion not withholding more than is meet, but always having a willing and giving heart to be able to provide not only to Your Kingdom but also to those in need. Father God, I pray that I do not move too quickly that I miss your guidance or don’t hear your voice. Lord give me the calmness of mind that allows me to always seek you before moving and before doing anything trusting that Your Spirit will guide me, Holy Spirit walks before me and encompass my thoughts through faith, love, and compassion that I may fulfill the mission that is set before me to do and to say. Thank you, that Your my Friend and King, and I can trust in You to always hear me when I speak to You. And you will make it come to pass those things that I ask in faith not wavering, oh Holy Spirit give me a clarity of vision and sight that I may only tend to the Prosperous life purposed for me in every waking moment.

We Have the Power to Dominate

We are created to have dominion, which is to dominate in this world. Genesis chapter one verse 26 says; “God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” We are created to subdue this world and therefore have the ability to bring all things into subjection. Included in the things of this world is our flesh. Romans chapter 8 teaches us that those of us that are in the Spirit have the Spirit of God dwelling in us. When we understand our true nature, we can see that God created us a spirit that lives in a body that possesses a soul. We have power over anything and everything that we own. Therefore, We are in control of our soul and our body.

I am a living spirit in a body and have decided that I am going to stand up and live in dominion like God created me too. We are not designed to lose at anything; We have the breath of Jehovah Elohim, who is the self-existing, self-revealing God, the covenant making, covenant-keeping God, Creator of the entire universe. We are filled with divine inspiration and intellect. The body in which we live in, we can bring into subjection and keep it under our control. Our Creator has animated us and has given us “divine dimensions.” He has specified our divine measurements.

The Divine dimensions of our spiritual being are immeasurable in size, scope, extent, magnitude, or proportion. There’s not a natural mirror that can reflect our size and who we indeed are. Spiritually we have no boundaries; We are a created conqueror and have dominion over the material substances of this world. We are created just a little lower than God Himself and crowned with glory and honor [Psalm 8:5]. We should be in control of our environment, not controlled by it.

Our scope is incalculable as well. The world does not dictate our possibilities, God does. We can do all things in him that strengtheneth us [Phil. 4:13]. I now enjoy opportunities of this abundant and wonderful life that My Father gives with ease. And I do it to any extent, that is any space or degree that a thing can reach. Only Jehovah can determine how far I can reach.

We are divinely created, so there is no measure of our magnitude. The enormity of our greatness is set at a godly standard. Our significance and importance have no restrictions. There is not a natural way to determine the rank or size of our spirit. We are immeasurable. We are boundless. We are capable of doing the impossible, because of He who makes all thing possible walks with His children giving us the ability to.

Prayer of Strength

Dear Heavenly Father,

In the strength-giving name of Christ Jesus, I come to You oh merciful and loving Father. You are the one who gives us life and the only one who can make the wrong things right. I worship you because You are worthy and I give to You all my adoration, love, and faith, you are my way maker, there is none like you. I thank you for my health today and my vigor. I thank you for a sound mind as I go about the task set before me today. I am so grateful that I have another opportunity to fulfill this journey that you have set before me, I thank you for my family, their health and life is in your hands, and I trust You to do as You always do according to the faith that works in us. I thank you for caring for us enough for us to know life and to see another day. Thank you that things are getting better, I know that there will be ups and downs, but because You are with us, we will always have peace, love, and joy. I pray that anything that is not of You is removed from our lives and that we grow to see you more clearly, so clearly that we begin to reflect You and others see You in us.

~Amen

I can do all things because of Christ who strengthens me. - Philippians 4:13

Prayer for Wisdom and Direction

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come to You in the Mighty name of Jesus, You are the One who knows all and sees all, I pray to you this morning thanking You for who you are in my life. You are my breath, You are my way maker, You are my salvation, and You are my protector. Lord, there is none as holy as You, none as high as You no one as magnificent as You. You are great and Mighty, and greatly to be praised the only one worthy of all the honor, all the praise, and the only one worthy of worship. Thank you for blessing me to see another day, giving me an opportunity to lean on you and to bask in your glory. Lord, I pray to you seeking your wisdom, and your guidance as I go about this day. I pray that when I move, I move with the confidence that I am moving towards fulfilling your purpose for my life, and that I don’t veer to the left or to the right. Lord, I pray that anyone that you place in my path for your sake that I say the words that you give me to say, and that the Love that you have poured in me overflows into the lives of those who come into contact with me today. I pray that they see You and that You be glorified in the faith and assuredness that I am able to walk in because I walk with you. Lord, I believe and pray that you help me in my unbelief and allow any questions that may rise up to be answered with clarity and with full assurance that You are directing me in my every step and my every thought. I thank you and give you praise knowing you have heard my prayer and will pour your wisdom on me so that I can enjoy balance and direction in this day that you have blessed me with.
~ Amen

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men liberally and without criticism, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, without wavering. For he who wavers is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed with the wind. Let not that man think that he will receive anything from the Lord. A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.- James 1:5-8

Lord you are forever merciful and full of grace, You are marvelous and magnificent to me, and I thank you for all it is that you have done, and for what you are going to do today in my life. I thank You for who You are in my life and that you keep me in perfect peace. Father God, You have been my light, and throughout my journey in the darkness, you have always brought me through.
As I go about my day today, I pray that you continue to lead and direct me in the way that You would have me to go and I thank you in advance for the providential care and protection that You are extending to me and those around me. You give us guidance only found in Your wisdom and understanding only found in truth, for you are the Truth and the Light. You are always with us, and I thank you and choose to follow the path that You are directing me on today. I pray these things in the miraculous name of Your Son, Christ Jesus.

~ Amen

Are You Bearing Fruit?

We are to love God and love our neighbor as we love ourselves. What do you think of when you think of love? Do you think of material things, family, or do you think of God, who is Love? “Are You Bearing Fruit;” is my hearts cry as I think of Love. I think of how I mistook enjoyment, lust, and appreciation for love for so long. I understand that love does not rejoice in wrongdoing, it is not boastful, or easily angered. I now know that Love is an action that endures and forgives. I understand God is Love, and I am able to love because He first loved me. I am reminded that I am God’s Husbandry when I meditate on “Love” and the concepts found therein. I remember that there are levels of love including brotherly, sensual, and the unconditional love that The Father has for us. His love nurtures us and allows us to flourish. Galatians 5 talks about the effects of various behaviors. Verses 19-21 speak about flesh led behaviors. In the King James version verse 22 starts by saying "But the fruit of the spirit is Love..." Showing us that if we walk in the Spirit, we will bear fruit and that will be validated through love. So, I ask you, “Are you bearing fruit?” Take a moment and think about this question. After all that has been said about love and the effects of love, what it does and what it does not do. What if I were to approach you in public somewhere and ask you this question, “Are You Bearing Fruit?” what thought would come to mind? Many replies are possible, but no matter what thought you would have it almost would not be a thought of love. Most people do not think of spiritual fruit when the word fruit is mentioned. For a considerable amount of time, I didn’t know what it meant to bear fruit. I would always ponder when I would hear the phrase, “God wants you to bear fruit,” and I had very little understanding of how to know if I was bearing fruit or not. I still can recall when I had the revelation that if you were a fruit-bearing believer, people could come to you and receive spiritual nourishment. Likewise, if people could not come to you, and be spiritually fed, then you were not bearing fruit. Think about this in the aspect of the fruit love, do people receive love when they come unto you? What fruits are you bearing if any?
What do you think about when you think about fruit? Do you think sweet, juicy, healthy, possibly vines, trees, farms? Do you think of a specific type of fruit, perhaps a strawberry, an apple, or an orange? No matter what thought you have it practically is not a thought of love. I am convinced that people do not think of spiritual fruit when fruit is mentioned.
Moreover, we certainly don’t think about love. What about seeds, do you think about the seeds and how one fruit may have many seeds and how one seed can be the beginning of an orchard. Imagine with me for a moment if you were given one seed and land and you were to provide for you and future generations to come through this land. You could plant your seed, water it and nurture it and it would produce a tree that would bear the fruit of its kind. Now you would have many seeds, and if you planted watered in cultivated these seeds, you would now have the beginning of an orchard or an orchard depending on the fruit. This multiplication is how our life as believers should be.
In the Beginning, God created every living thing and said be fruitful and multiply. Imagine with me for a moment that as believers we are “Love Trees,” and we are to be fruitful and to multiply. How would this happen? How do we multiply after our kind as “Love trees”? First, we do as Jesus commanded in Matthew 28 and go out teaching all of the commandments Jesus taught, baptizing and making disciples. Remember in Acts chapter two when the Holy Ghost fell upon the apostles, and they began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Many were amazed and began to repent and be baptized, and on the same day, about 3000 were added. This is how Love Trees should multiply, by the thousands daily. I don’t think I have multiplied by tens in my Christian walk, but I intend on fulfilling the purpose God created, and saved me for. We will multiply as Love Trees by walking according to the Spirit and denying the flesh. Living the way God created us to live. I love the way The Message Bible puts Galatians 5 beginning at verse 19:
“It is ,obvious what kind of life develops out of trying to get your own way all the time: repetitive, loveless, cheap sex; a stinking accumulation of mental and emotional garbage; frenzied and joyless grabs for happiness; trinket gods; magic-show religion; paranoid loneliness; cutthroat competition; all-consuming-yet-never-satisfied wants; a brutal temper; an impotence to love or be loved; divided homes and divided lives; small-minded and lopsided pursuits; the vicious habit of depersonalizing everyone into a rival; uncontrolled and uncontrollable addictions; ugly parodies of community. I could go on. This isn’t the first time I have warned you, you know. If you use your freedom this way, you will not inherit God’s kingdom. But what happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely. Legalism is helpless in bringing this about; it only gets in the way. Among those who belong to Christ, everything connected with getting our own way and mindlessly responding to what everyone else calls necessities is killed off for good—crucified."
This passage of scripture from this version clearly shows us how we should be living as believers. Warning us not to be selfishly driven. Wanting to please our flesh. Remember I said that as believers we are likened to a tree, The Message Bible compares our lives to an orchard, in an orchard, there are many trees, and inevitably a tree does not produce fruit for itself. Also, it is not enough that a tree only provides shade. A tree that bears fruit provides nourishment to those who seek to be fed. Think about a tree in all its fullness. Beginning at its roots that draw in what it needs to grow, flourish, and produce from the ground, which comes in by the sources as water then is transformed into sap which does precisely what it is supposed to do. The sap is in the trunk of the tree, which is covered by bark, and then there are limbs or branches, and on those branches, there are leaves and then (in most cases) there is fruit. As believers who are in Christ (the ground) our solid foundation, receive the word (the water), which produces sap in us (righteousness), we produce leaves (godliness), we should produce fruit (nourishment for the spiritually hungry.) How important is it that we bear fruit? As a Love Tree or any fruit tree for that matter, that is our purpose. How important is it to fulfill our God created purpose? This should be our number one priority. Paul said in 1 Corinthians chapter 13 when he was a child, he did childish things, but when Paul became a man, he put away childish things. He then talks about how we will know when Christ returns what it really means to be like Christ, but now we only know in part. He follows this statement with verse 13, “And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.” We know charity here is the Greek word agape which translates love.
Love is the greatest, Paul says, and what was he talking about in chapter 13; how gifts and abilities are worthless without love. “Love or Die” or in other words bear fruit or die. As a Love Tree, we need to provide love to and for others. We have to stay connected to God through the True Vine which is Christ. Also, in this current explanation, Christ is our roots and solid foundation. Many believers know how important it is to have faith. We know that without faith it is impossible to please God. Also, we know the power of faith, In Matthew 21:21 and 22 it says;
“Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."

Nevertheless, what was done to the fig tree? Remember in verses 17-19, Jesus returns from Bethany and sees a fig tree along the way, and there’s leaves only and no fruit. Jesus said to the tree, “Let no fruit ever grow on you again.” Also, the scripture says presently or immediately the fig tree withered away. This action demonstrates how Jesus, who only does what The Father does and only says what The Father says, feels about living things that do not fulfill its purpose. “Love or Die” Remember I said that we are Love Trees and our righteousness is our sap, and our leaves are our godliness. How godly can we be without love, when God is Love. We are living in a perilous time, and we can see all of the evidence of an approaching end, 2 Timothy 3:1-7 says;
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

What is the truth? The truth is we were created for a reason, and that reason is for God’s pleasure. We can only please God if we have faith and if we have faith, meaning that if we believe He exists then we will have reverence for Him and His word and we will love one another as we love ourselves. After reading this passage from the letter to Timothy, we should be able to see that we are unquestionably in the last days. The part I want to point out is verse 5, “having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” The Fig tree had a form of life the leaves, but no fruit so, therefore, was of no purpose to the hungry who in this case was Jesus, but who are those that hunger amongst us? Do we bear fruit for them or are we failing to serve our purpose? Do we only have a form of godliness, but we deny the power of faith to have its perfect work through our actions.
God by way of the Holy Spirit gives us the power and the ability to produce the fruit. Jesus said he is the true vine and the Father is the Husbandman, and anyone who does not bear fruit the Father will take away, and he who bears fruit will be cleansed so that he can bear more fruit. This fruit is the spiritual fruit that we will bear if we abide in the word and the word in us. Verse eight says when we do this that the Father is glorified and by this that you bear much fruit, so you will be disciples of Christ and verse 9, and 10 say;
“As the Father loved Me, I also loved you. Remain in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love, even as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love."
We don't want to be like the fig tree, having a form of godliness but bearing no fruit. As believers, if we have hope and faith but no love, no fruit, we can repent and go to the word and reconnect to the vine. We don’t want to be withered away or even worse burnt up in the fire; we must cleave to that which is good and hate that which is evil, being devoted to one another with brotherly love. “Are you Bearing Fruit?” If not; Remember from whence you have fallen and repent; that is what Jesus said to the Church at Ephesus, and he told them to return to their first works and deeds or else He would come quickly and remove our, I mean their candlestick. As believers, we are expected to love one another and strangers including evil doers and our enemies, as Christ loved us. This commandment was given by Christ Himself, and He said that we should love one another even as He loved us, and by this, all men will know that we are His disciples, if we love one another. Jesus is our foundation; the water is the word, seek after righteousness, abiding in the word.
We need to study Love because God is Love. We do need to pray to know the love of Christ and that our love for others increases. We do need to imitate Christ allowing ourselves to be taught and then teach others to love as he loved, a self-sacrificing love. The word of God tells us to be a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God, which is our reasonable service. Teaching as Paul said, “a more excellent way.” Becoming an example of as we model love, imitating Jesus, who loved us so much that he gave up his life for us, not allowing our love to go to wither away. Dressing it and keeping it so that we can bear fruit. Practicing love, that is applying it to our lives over and over preparing for Christ return. We must observe to keep the commandments; love is inseparable from obedience. The fruit of the Spirit is, Love and love manifest itself in patience, kindness, hope, endurance, trust, and in truth. Scripture tells us that if we don’t love, we don’t know God because God is Love. Love covers all sins (Proverbs 10:12), there is no fear in love because perfect love casteth out fear (1 John 4:18) And if you walk not after the flesh but in the Spirit, you will bear fruit (Galatians 5:19-22).

"He's My Everything"

Not searching for anything new; just consistency
Everyone wants something; I only want to be me
Greatness is His; glory is his, He gives me this life
Blessed to know Him and He gave me my beautiful wife
Nowhere to run, and why would I want to anyway
His merciful love abounding each and every day
That's why I pray; that's why I sing, "He's my everything."
He's here in the morning, and He's here in the evening
Nothing can separate me from His Love, Not one thing
Glory, glory, glory to Him all day I will sing
Joy, peace, and love were the initial gifts on day one
Longsuffering and kindness, in comparison there is none
I use to be so prideful now I'm filled with humility
More is what He's is all about, so more is what I always get
Your thoughts will be established when your works to Him you commit
Don't get lost, trust in Him and obey, only trust and believe
Divinely omniscient is He; there's nothing He doesn't see
He gave to us His son, so, won't He give us all things freely
He is greater than I can express in such few syllables, let me add five more
His beauty knows no measure; He is evident in the sky and on the seashore
There's nothing He won't do for us for He cares for us in an immutable way
He's everything to me, I must say, will you make Him everything to you today?

God is the Light on the Other side of the Darkness
