Religion, Relationship, & Righteousness

What's It All About

There have always been people who question religion and what it means to be religious. They're people who even deny religion and are claiming to be spiritual, not religious, or not to be affiliated — denying a local assembly or a following of order. That's another topic for another post. Here we are talking about Religion, Relationship, and Righteousness.

Being Religious

Religion is seen in your behavior, your church attendance, how you treat people, how often you read the Bible, and your prayer time. Our Religion is shown in the things that we do, or don't do. Religion is pure and undefiled before God. Your Religion is a demonstration of your relationship that you share with The Father. Not saying that if you don't do the activities previously listed that you don't have a relationship; but how can you have a close relationship with someone you don't spend any time with? We will often use "Faith" interchangeably in place of the word religion for clarity.

What We Mean by Relationship

Your relationship with God through Christ is developed from your religious behavior. Whether it be through prayer, bible reading, attending fellowships, worship services or bible studies these activities promote a closer relationship with the Father. If you're saved the connection is always there, but we develop a more intimate relationship when we fellowship, spending time with our Father. Spend time in the word so that you will have a strong bond relationship with Christ.

Righteousness

Righteousness is ours when we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, we don't have to do religious works to get righteousness but because we have righteousness people should be able to see it in the way that we act, which is our faith. So these three things they coincide together: your religion, your relationship, and your righteousness; people don't know that you have a relationship with God through Christ if you're acting just like the world. We will explore these topics intimately over the next few weeks, please visit weekly to enjoy and be encouraged.
